It utilises its skills in research and risk management to originate equity-based financial solutions and products and services for client, globally. Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) was formed in April 2008 from the merger of the Equity Markets Group and Macquarie Capital Securities.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantitative Analyst, with outstanding qualifications (ideally at Masters or PhD level) in mathematics or a quantitative subject, to its specialist quantitative development team in Sydney.

The team has an established history of innovation in applying leading edge computer and quantitative technology to product development. Development work involves a broad range of derivatives, including structured investment products (e.g. correlation trades/transactions) and exotic structured products over a broad range of asset classes.

Key qualities sought:

    * outstanding financial modelling skills, including good programming knowledge (preferably in C/C++) and proficiency in Excel/VBA
    * experience in a similar finance related role within equities, commodities or fixed income - or a strong interest in finance that is evident from your academic endeavour
    * a strong ability for original thinking when it comes to mathematical/financial problem solving and the ability to, in time, initiate commercial outcomes
    * familiarity with stochastic calculus, partial differential equations and Monte Carlo simulations
    * the ability to relate well to front office staff and clients.

The position involves global responsibilities and hence travel may be required once you are familiar with the work involved. Candidates with Masters or PhD qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.
